Students for Life of America (SFLA) have
come up with a wonderful way to both
support and encourage their groups
through an incentive plan. They currently
have 500 active groups in which they are
monitoring. The goal of the plan is to en-
courage those groups to continue to be
active in their fight for life
on college campuses. Last
year the groups were given
the opportunity to earn fetal
posters by hosting at least
one event, having one guest
speaker, and showing proof
of membership for fifteen
people.
This year, the incentive is
even larger which means
that there will be a higher
level of activity required
from the groups. They will
have to host two activities
on campus, two guest speak-
ers, and show proof of membership for
fifteen people. The incentive? Fetal mod-
els. These incredible, lifelike models show
the size, age, and weight of babies at vari-
ous stages of development in the womb.
Recently, SFLA took these models to the
Conservative Political Action Conference
to show at their table.
“We had people of all ages coming to
our table to talk and ask about the mod-
els. They took pictures of them and were
amazed that the weight represented the
actual ages too. This was even at a conser-
vative conference which just shows that
even people who are pro-life need to be
educated about fetal development”, says
Sarah Bunch of SLFA.
They are hoping that by coupling the fe-
tal models with the fetal posters that were
earned last year, the groups
will be able to educate their
peers about fetal develop-
ment. Once earned, the stu-
dents can choose to use the
fetal models in ways that
best fit their activity. How-
ever, most groups will be
using them while they are
tabling and during sidewalk
counseling.
Knights, this is a perfect
outreach for your council to
undertake. You can come
along these courageous
students and bless them in
a number of ways: helping them network,
sponsoring all the groups in your state,
providing local pro-life support to answer
questions, and helping purchase the fe-
tal models. These models will give SFLA
the materials to expose our young adults
to the truth about life at conception in an
undeniable, tangible way. This is an amaz-
ing opportunity to have a fundraiser that
will allow you to bless these students that
are holding the lines in colleges around
our nation by putting these life saving re-
sources in their hands.
