The 625 pin was born out of an idea I had to try and encourage
people who were either involved as a hiker in the Hike for Life
or who were sponsoring a hiker. In the past, many hikers would
fulfill the minimum requirements to be in the Hike by coming to
the event with a $20 bill in hand. While this is always welcome, it
was not helping to provide the funds needed to really help the
Crisis Pregnancy Centers we were trying to support.
So, as with anything, if you have a goal to aim for, you will increase the amount of
money you raise simply because you are much more motivated.
I interviewed a local Crisis Center that had been in business for over 20 years.
They see on average 2,000+ women. While not all of them are abortionmind-
ed there are several hundred that are. On average they save hundreds of
babies from abortion. So by taking the annual expenses of the Crisis
Center and dividing it by the number of babies they
save you come up with the cost of saving a life…
which is $625.
Now every Hiker that obtains $625 in paid pledges
receives the 625 Club pin to wear. They know that
they have personally saved the life of a child that
was in danger of losing their life to abortion.
It has increased our donations tremendously, and
it has helped to save many lives in doing so.
