Councils are always looking for ways to raise
funds to help other groups or for project ex-
penses. While giving to a cause is great, giving
an amount that equates to a tangible effectmo-
tivates, encourages, and creates excitement.
You can give a big jump-start to any of your
fundraisers by tying their donations to the
needs of your project. Here are just a few
ideas.
Billboard Project:
To help donors understand the value of their
donation you need to get the number of peo-
ple passing your billboard location (known
as the DEC - Daily Effective Circulation). If it
is rented from a large company, they will nor-
mally know those numbers. Otherwise you
can count cars and multiply by 1.5 (the average
number of people per car). A normal billboard
would have anywhere from 5,000 - 50,000 cars
pass in one day. At that rate, your billboard
can be seen from 1/4 million to 2 million times
in one month! So, you take your total cost and
divide it out for the following:
• $100 shows 10,000 people the truth about the unborn
being alive.
• $10 offers help to 1,000 people who may be in a crisis
pregnancy.
• $50 shows the truth about life before birth to 5,000
people.
• $1,000 gives a chance for 100,000 people to see the
truth about abortion.
Pregnancy Center Fundraiser
Inmost communities around the U.S. there
are centers whose core job is to reach out
to women in a crisis pregnancy and offer
them support and hope. They are reach-
ing the abortion vulnerable and teaching
them the truth about the baby in their
womb. As seen in the letter on the follow-
ing page, you can quickly create a better
fundraiser by tying donations to direct
help and support.
• $750 will save the life of one baby.
• $100 will pay for 35 women to attend parenting class-
es.
• $500 will pay for ultrasounds for 10 clients considering
abortion.
Fetal Sets in Schools Project
When working to put sets of
fetal models in schools
you want to reach
your donors with
the real effect of
their dollars. If your
sets are going in the
nurses office you will
reach fewer people - but
you may be reaching those in a
crisis pregnancy. If you put the sets in a
classroommore people will see the babies
- and they will likely tell others. Here are
some examples of numbers you can use:
• $200 will show pre born life to 1000 children.
• $1000 will put fetal models in every school in your dis-
trict.
• $300 will reach all kids in the nurses office.
