The most consistent comments we hear are
how the Precious Feet are exceptional as an
educational tool. Indeed, that is WHY they are
the
International Pro-Life Symbol
- because
they inspire people to think beyond the words
to visual impact of the humanity of the unborn.
It never ceases to amaze us how creative and
ingenious people are in using the Precious Feet.
The following are some ideas from Pro-Lifers on
how to use the Precious Feet.
Children Love the Precious Feet
Many Pro-Lifers go into private and public
schools and talk about the
development of the unborn
baby. While they may not
mention abortion, they are
affirming the humanity of
the unborn by introducing
children and teens to the
child in the womb. As part
of their program, they pass
out the Precious Feet. The
children LOVE them!
Dolly from Minnesota writes,
“This morning I
talked at a Family Living class at the Trimont High
School - tomorrow morning I talk at the Waldorf
High School. And all of these beautiful teenagers
LOVE your Precious Feet. Even the boys asked me if
they could take them home for their mothers.”
Philip Sheridan, Pro-Life Chairman of the
Marquette Council of Knights of Columbus
writes,
“We have been greatly encouraged in our
Pro-Life campaign by the great number of pre-teen
and teenage boys and girls who have taken and
who wear the Precious Feet lapel pin. We originally
thought that the pin would appeal mainly to ‘old
folks’ who are conservative and settled. But to our
surprise, the Precious Feet pin has attracted many
young marrieds and the young impressionable
youth!”
Mary Resa of Tuscaloosa, Alabama writes,
“I
am a public high school French teacher. My stu-
dents often ask about my feet pins. This pin has
been used as a topic in many of my classes. Many
young people have had their eyes opened. Now
they want feet of their own, so I’m placing this or-
der. May God bless you in your work.”
Awards and Rewards
Carole Steier of Omaha, Nebraska
told us
about a volleyball tournament their Pro-Life
group sponsors. There is an entry fee and all
participants receive the Precious Feet with their
registration. Up to 400
people participate in the
tournament and for many
of them this is the first
time they have been ex-
posed to the humanity of
the unborn child.
Jerry
Gongaware
of
Greenburg, Pennsylva-
nia
told how their Crisis
Pregnancy Center use the
Precious Feet at their annual banquet. Every per-
son who purchases a ticket receives a pair of Pre-
cious Feet as a special “thank you.”
Therese Breheney of Pennsylvanians for Life
uses the Precious Feet as service awards. She
writes, “This year we will be again giving ‘feet’ of
various types for years of service awards.”
One of the most unique and touching uses for
the Precious Feet was at an all boys Catholic
School. The boys wear blazers as part of their
uniform. As incoming freshmen they receive a
pair of Precious Feet that they wear on the la-
pel of their blazer for the next four years. Then,
as a tradition during their graduation ceremony,
they take the feet from the lapel and place them
on their ties.
